It is not the case. The process of painting is a combination of subjectivity and objectivity, and on the whole under the guide of the former while making use of every possibility of latter. To achieve the peak of excellence, one need to fully use his/her intuition. Wang implanted a charm and grandeur in each of his paintings. Like what was depicted by Zhan Jianjun, Wang's watercolors are far exalted to those of English painters. This judgment makes sense. We are quite familiar with the transparently textured English watercolors, including some of superb qualities of the second half of the nineteenth Century.
